Charity Golf Tournament

The 2020 Triangle Golf Challenge

In 2003, Sherrod Banks began holding an annual Golf Tournament to raise money for The Banks Foundation, a tax-exempt organization that assists families who are moving from welfare to work and from public housing to private homeownership. The board approved an expansion of the Tournament to support other Triangle charities in 2013 and renamed the tournament as the Triangle Golf Challenge.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the 2020 Triangle Golf Challenge has been postponed. Updates to details and rescheduling will be posted here as information becomes available.  We hope you and your families remain safe and healthy during these challenging times.

Proceeds will benefit The Banks Foundation and the residents of McDougald Terrace.

McDougald Terrace is a 360-unit affordable housing community in Durham. In early January, the Durham Housing Authority began immediate emergency relocation of families living at McDougald Terrace due to high carbon monoxide levels. Hundreds of residents were evacuated from their homes and relocated to area hotels. Funds donated through the Triangle Golf Challenge will help the Banks Foundation meet the needs of these residents and offer support during this difficult time.
